Data protection is now a critical corporate governance issue in the boardroom. Recent high profile data leakage events have damaged reputations while rising legislative and standards requirements create imperatives for action in this area.
Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) programs can help to secure critical and sensitive data, but firstly you must locate & identify the information you need to protect. Critical Data Auditor™ by PixAlert is scanning software to rapidly locate critical information and discover risk on company networks.
PixAlert critical data auditor will report:
- Full path – to the file including any email message, zip file etc.
- File owner – full domain credentials of the user who was logged in when the file containing suspect data was created;
- Creation Date – for the file containing suspect data;
- MD5 Hash – of the file containing suspect data to assist easy location of replicated files;
- Location path – of the PC or server on which suspect data is found;

Once identified, documents containing unsecured sensitive data can be encrypted by the application to reduce the likelihood of misuse
